Price and Steam launch offer

Steam lists Big Walk at $19.99 USD before discounts. Its introductory offer reduces the price by 25% to $14.99 and states that the offer ends on August 18, 2026. Players seeing another currency or tax amount should trust their signed-in regional checkout rather than converting the U.S. figure themselves.

A Big Walk and PEAK bundle also appears on Steam, but the bundle total changes with active discounts and ownership. Compare the current bundle details with the individual products before paying. No verified coupon code or redemption code is required for the official launch discount.

Windows system requirements

Steam’s minimum Windows specification requires a 64-bit processor and operating system, Windows 10, 12 GB of RAM, and a listed entry-level dedicated or Intel Arc GPU. The example processors are an Intel Core i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X. The listed graphics examples are a GTX 750 Ti 2 GB, Radeon R7 370 2 GB, or Intel Arc A380 6 GB.

The recommended specification moves to Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM, and an Intel Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 7 3700X. Recommended graphics examples are a GTX 1070 8 GB, Radeon RX 5600 XT 8 GB, or Intel Arc A750 8 GB. Steam does not provide a promised frame rate or resolution beside those tiers, so exact performance on a particular machine remains Unconfirmed.

Apple computers

Mac requirements on Steam

The Steam Mac version requires macOS 15, an Apple-silicon M1 processor or newer, and 16 GB of memory. The recommended listing keeps macOS 15 and 16 GB of memory but names an M3 processor or newer. Intel Macs are not included in the supported processor statement and should not be assumed compatible.

House House also sells a separate Mac App Store version, but a purchase on that store should not be assumed to unlock the Steam copy. The Mac App Store edition lacks Game Center friends-list discovery and therefore uses Join Codes. Steam Mac players can use Steam discovery for Steam friends or use the same code-based path as any cross-platform guest.

Online-only group play

Steam co-op and crossplay

Steam labels Big Walk as Online Co-op and Cross-Platform Multiplayer. A Windows or Mac player can join supported friends on PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2, with an overall group size of two to twelve. There is no random matchmaking, so the group must organize before launching and connect through friend discovery or a Join Code.

The host starts first, owns the automatic save, and must host again when the group continues. Guests disconnect when that host ends the session, regardless of platform. Steam Cloud is listed, but it should not be confused with host migration or a cross-platform save-transfer system, both of which are Unconfirmed.

Choose the long-term host before beginning. Crossplay broadens who can join, but it does not make another player the owner of the same world.

Play comfortably

Controls, chat, and accessibility

The official FAQ says mouse and keyboard work, and the computer version supports most game controllers. Controls can be rebound through Settings, which helps players adapt movement, pointing, carrying, and interaction inputs. The exact behavior of every third-party controller is not guaranteed, so an unsupported device should be tested rather than assumed.

In-game proximity voice and text chat carry the same gameplay restrictions. Messages fade or become blocked by distance and barriers, while tools such as walkie-talkies can restore contact in particular situations. House House recommends avoiding Discord or another unrestricted call because it removes communication problems that the puzzles intentionally create.

Accessibility options include challenge skipping, complete control rebinding, crosshair choices, hold-or-toggle options, FOV adjustment, and motion-reduction overlays. Those settings can make a first-person session more manageable without adding solo play. At least two online players are still required for meaningful progress.

What the download contains

Steam features and game structure

Big Walk is a handcrafted adventure with a beginning, middle, and ending rather than a randomly generated endless map. Players explore an open island, solve cooperative structures, communicate with voices or gestures, and use tools including walkie-talkies, binoculars, laser pointers, megaphones, and flares. The game leaves space to wander and talk instead of pushing a constant quest list.

Steam lists twelve achievements and Steam Cloud support, but the official sources do not publish paid editions or character packs. The store also lists fourteen interface languages and no full voice or subtitle track, which fits a game built around player communication rather than scripted dialogue. Future DLC, Workshop support, trading cards, and Deck verification are Unconfirmed.

Quick checklist

Before starting Big Walk on Steam

Confirm that the computer meets the correct Windows or Mac tier, update graphics drivers, and test the microphone or text chat. Pick a host who can return for later sessions, then choose a two-player, three-player, or four-plus world based on reliable attendance. Invite Steam friends after the host starts or share the generated Join Code with anyone on another supported platform.

If performance is poor, the official FAQ recommends lowering Render Scale, then lowering the Quality setting, and finally raising Render Scale gradually to find a balance. Network problems can also reflect the host’s low frame rate or connection, so the whole group should not assume every stutter belongs to one guest. Use wired networking when practical and close bandwidth-heavy programs before a long session.
